As a Software Engineer you will be a key member of the Platform Core team. We look for collaborative team players who are also confident individual contributors and problem solvers. The Core team is responsible for building, maintaining and monitoring a set of micro-services that are the building blocks of the Smoothwall Products. Choosing the right architecture that can scale and support our growth is at the heart of what we do. Most importantly, you will be a valued member of the wider engineering team, and what you do will be used by customers in homes and schools around the globe. Key Technology focus will be C#, .Net Core, Azure, Angular 10+ or React and Swift.

Here's how you'll do it?*

  • Taking part in developing and designing complex systems and microservices
  • Writing software in a range of languages (Our stack is varied: .NET Core, Angular 10+, Golang, ReactJs, etc.)
  • Developing solutions natively in cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, AWS.
  • Scaling services to find the right balance between performance, costs and availability
  • Managing projects, branches, and releases over large code bases with Git
  • Bringing an understanding of DevOps and experience of release engineering and what it means to use CI/CD
  • Utilising your experience of working in Agile development teams

What will you bring?*

  • Experienced writing software in a range of languages, with your key skills being within .Net Core, C#, and Angular 10+/React
  • Ideally some experience of managing projects (small, medium or large), branches and releases over large code bases with GIT
  • Ideally experienced developing solutions natively in MS Azure, not just Azure hosted websites
  • A good understanding of DevOps, experience of release engineering and what it means to use CI/CD
  • RESTful web-services
